I’d say it is the opposite.   Once one indulges in drugs or brain chemicals that cause one to access and then re-enact  some mental content, then one is unable to see clearly.   It is this damming up at night I think that permits one to sort out the content of the mind in the form of dreams rather than becoming possessed by it.
