We all like our homes to be a safe, healthy, and stress-free environment. For this reason, many of us install dependable home security systems and keep our homes clean and structurally safe. However, there's one aspect to a healthy living environment that is beyond our control: noise pollution. Noise pollution is defined as "displeasing human, animal or machine-created sound that disrupts the activity or balance of human or animal life." According to Noise Free America, an organization committed to combating noise pollution in the US, noise pollution can lead to a variety of serious health problems, including risk of heart attacks due to elevated blood pressure, loss of hearing, chronic fatigue syndrome, and fibromyalgia. In addition, it can acerbate the manifestation of certain psychiatric disorders. So knowing all of this, how can you use your home security system to protect yourself and your family from noise pollution?
