…this means that during this phase of splitting and in cases of dissociation, something can be put into the split off parts. If the ego is weak, the person may identify with that which is put into it, this is projective identification, if the ego is sound and immiscible, then it will reject those thoughts and actions put into it and it will seek to identify that to which it belongs.
