I liken this MC Escher drawing to what the Earth…

…might have once appeared as it was spewed from the sun millions of years ago, probably not as triangular as his drawing.  As the atmosphere and weather wore down its mountains they filled its valleys, these conditions created what we see now as a round ball.   I personally think it was a huge mass of hot material, what we call the earth’s core, that was blown out from the sun and started to spin then cool, collecting dust during this cooling period, that created the earth’s mantle, upper mantle, and crust.   This seems most logical to me, as opposed to being a gas and may have once appeared like Mars during it’s evolution.

Coming from dust is likely to refer to old ideas about the human body, “from dust we came and to dust we return”, which is erroneous as well.
