I slept in my car for seven years and it is where I felt safest for a long while. I recollect this Car Song on the radio, “turn your radio on get in touch with God turn your radio on…”
You in this song refers to God to me…
The bolded words are the ones I caught most often, I never really paid attention to the rest of the song as I was driving. This is what I mean by passive listening, when one is not paying attention to what one hears the words become most dangerous. I was driving a Dodge D-50 truck at that time, no A/C so I had to keep the windows down in summer, it was a straight shift and very noisy.

Cars
Here in my car
I feel safest of all
I can lock all my doors
It's the only way to live in cars.
Here in my car
I can only receive
I can listen to you
It keeps me stable for days in cars.
Here in my car
Where the image breaks down
Will you visit me please
If I open my door in cars
Here in my car
You know I've started to think
About leaving tonight
Although nothing seems right in cars.
Turn Your Radio On – Roy Acuff
Come and listen into a radio station where the mighty hosts of heaven sing
Turn your radio on turn your radio on
If you want to hear the songs of Zion coming from the land of endless spring
Get in touch with God turn your radio on
Turn your radio on turn your radio on and listen to the music in the air
Turn your radio on heaven's glory share
Turn the lights down low and listen to the Master's radio
Get in touch with God turn your radio on
[ ac.guitar ]
Brother listen into the gloryland chorus listen to the glad hosannas roll
Turn your radio on turn your radio on
Get a little taste of joy awaitin' get a little heaven in your soul
Get in touch with God turn your radio on
Turn your radio on...
Listen to the songs of the fathers and the mothers
And the many friends gone before turn your radio on turn your radio on
Some eternal morning we shall meet them over on the hallelujah shore
Get in touch with God turn your radio on
Turn your radio on...
