In speaking about being lifted or jacked up or whatever other term one desires to label this exercise or better termed robbery; the students in Chapel Hill have been doing quite a bit of it to me since I’ve been here and have become quite blatant in doing so without even asking. It’s been going on at the Mall, Harris Teeter, and Weaver Street Market. On one occasion two students, a male and a female came and stood right in front of me and did it then turned and walked away. He was carrying a laptop bag and sat outside across from the girl and they engaged in conversation. I proceeded to collect my property back or rather let myself back down and out of the enmeshment. On another occasion four young men did the same thing at the U-Scan at Harris Teeter and after we became enmeshed they started this rude conversation I have blogged about previously. It took some time but I think I finally got myself disconnected from them. It was not clear they were not using me to clean their weekend adventures.
On another occasion it occurred but because of my own ignorance of the phenomenon. I was employed by a local office supply store and was sent on campus to give away ink pens. I had no idea the owner’s true intent for sending me there. I was lifted many times and was even approached by a campus official and asked to leave ( which I can now appreciate) to make it all look good publically I guess as he certainly didn’t instruct the students to vacate my property afterward. This also continued on Franklin Street on another day in front of the Bank of America. Had I been aware I even possessed any skill at writing I certainly would have avoided subjecting myself to such employment but as it was I was buying a pen at that store myself because I wanted to write. But the most recent event which occurred at the Harris Teeter was the most shocking coming from students at the University which demands high standards of honor and integrity among it’s students and staff. No doubt it was discovered via this campus I was deeply connected historically and was the true reason for my coming here, among other things.
It is clear I have been enmeshed with some of the professors as well due to this game playing.
I was also enmeshed with an English student on campus in 1972 while visiting UNC. He and some of his friends lifted me while I was there. I suspect, but was never told this, someone at my school or mental health facility, with the University, sent me to UNC with several of my classmates in an attempt to help clear my mental problems. They paid us a visit in 1973, 6 months before I was to graduate. It was not better, in fact I began to act out his behaviors including drinking wine ( I recall a bottle of Mateus he had in his dorm) which lead to various other illegal drug use activities and the events on the Lake Road in 1974. He was not aware, nor was I, of our connection to Wyoming.
I fully plan to make this an official complaint to the Dean of Students and again ask them to leave me alone and leave me out of their games.
