The dark ring on the table is not a piece of jewelry, it is wax from my candle snuffer…it might represent the serpentine ring in the scheme of things…
I also thought of this as some kind of formal procession and the cross as well…which means the person might be positioned in that specific place…then it could be a nickel on the pavement or whatever…it could be the bearer of the ring acquisitioning the cross…
